Fil-Am girl here looking for a language partner to practice Bisaya/Cebuano.

Hey everyone,

My family is from Leyte but I was born and grew up in the States. I am looking for someone who could help me practice my Bisaya. I understand about 40% of conversations in Bisaya, but I have no idea how to form complete sentences. If anyone is interested in making friends by speaking Bisaya, I would gladly welcome it.

My e-mail address is csm2109 (at) gmail.com -- please feel free to send me a note!

Looking forward to speaking with you.

Camille

fil am living here trying to learn as I go

You know it is hard to find people to teach you bisaya. I have lived here a year and it is improving. I have found the easiest way is to go to the province where no one speaks English and just try to absorb it. Your head gets full when you try too hard. But the fastest way I learn is listening and interacting with children. What is really sad here in Cebu is that bisaya is being lost to english ad tagalog. The deep bisaya is only understood by our ancestors.
