Thank you for your answer. I always hear women calling their friends day, however I have only heard someone called dong when it was a nickname for a particular person "DoDong". I only heard "kuya" used by women when speaking to a man, except on a few rare occasions when one woman calls a certain man "dong" and she is the only one who calls him by that name and she uses kuya for everyone else. Would this indicate a special relationship between these two individuals?
